Why classes are suspended
The suspensions come as the southwest monsoon continues to dump rain over Luzon. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said the monsoon would keep bringing cloudy skies and rain until Thursday afternoon over Metro Manila, the rest of Luzon and Visayas, on top of rain enhanced by Tropical Depression Pilandok.
Check before you head out
Several towns, including San Simon in Pampanga, are still dealing with flooding after days of heavy rain, and the suspension list from Wednesday only grew longer overnight. Because notices are posted through the day, always confirm with your school or local government before commuting, and check the continuously updated GMA list for the newest additions. If your town is not on the list, assume classes push through as scheduled.
