MANILA, Philippines – Dra Vicki Belo, a renowned plastic surgeon and businesswoman from the Philippines, has offered an explanation for Renee Zellweger’s drastically altered look.
In an Instagram post, Belo pointed at botox, blepharoplasty, and dermal fillers as potential culprits for the transformation.
She also offered some insights on how she probably would have done it, adding that she would not have done a blepharoplasty on Renee Zellweger’s eyes, as that was her best feature. Blepharoplasty is a type of plastic surgery operation that alters the eyelids and the eye region of the face.
Everyone is shocked at how different Renee Zellweger looks. Here’s Dra Belo’s take on it. She’s done too much botox in her forehead and it dropped her eyebrows. Her eyes look so different she must have done an upperlid blepharoplasty. She also had dermal fillers without rebuilding cheek bone from bone loss on the left side. I would have done ultherapy to tighten and firm up her face first. I would have then put radiesse to rebuild her cheekbone before putting voluma so it would be in the right place. Only tiny amount of botox in her forehead to avoid the shiny artificial look. Since her eyes were her best feature I would never have done a blepharoplasty but instead would have tightened it a bit with ultherapy and fractional CO2.
Known in real life as Victoria G. Belo, Dr. Vicki Belo is known for her high-profile celebrity clientelle. She is currently the Medical Director of the Belo Medical Group, which owns and operates nine (9) medical clinics in Metro Manila.
Earlier this month Renee reappeared in public after a long-term hiatus at the 21st annual Elle Magazine awards looking dramatically different from her earlier appearance, leading to remarks that she is hardly recognizable as the same person.
In response, Zellweger told People Magazine that she welcomes the remarks and attributes the changes to age and life-changing decisions.
“I’m glad folks think I look different! I’m living a different, happy, more fulfilling life, and I’m thrilled that perhaps it shows,” said the 45 year-old Hollywood actress.
She added, saying “my friends say that I look peaceful. I am healthy. For a long time I wasn’t doing such a good job with that. I took on a schedule that is not realistically sustainable and didn’t allow for taking care of myself. Rather than stopping to recalibrate, I kept running until I was depleted and made bad choices about how to conceal the exhaustion. I was aware of the chaos and finally chose different things.”
A number of photos of Renee without makeup have since surfaced online since her appearance at Elle, showing a smiling and happy woman that looks a lot more like the Renee of old.
