Wilma Doesnt’s commute stories might sound familiar, and that’s exactly the point

MANILA, Philippines (June 2026) — Long before she became a household name, Wilma Doesnt was just another commuter trying to make it across Metro Manila. Her stories of long rides, tight budgets, and traffic headaches are now taking center stage in a recent episode of “Ang Walang Kwentang Podcast,” where she shared why smarter transport options matter to everyday Pinoys.

Hosted by directors Antoinette Jadaone and JP Habac, the episode featured Wilma opening up about life before showbiz, when traveling from Cavite to Manila meant spending hours on the road.

Growing up in Cavite City, she recalled that reaching Manila could take three to four hours in the early 1990s, long before the construction of major roads like CAVITEX. She even remembered taking a ferry from the Cavite City Naval Base as part of her regular commute.

Traffic has always come with a price

For Wilma, commuting was never just about getting from one place to another. It also meant stretching every peso while dealing with unpredictable traffic.

She recalled the stress of riding taxis, watching the fare meter climb while sitting in traffic and worrying about drivers who allegedly manipulated the meter. Those experiences, she said, taught her to carefully calculate every trip.

A practical way to combine transport options

During the podcast, Wilma said motorcycle taxis work best alongside existing public transportation instead of replacing it.

She suggested using MOVE IT for the first part of a trip before transferring to the nearest MRT or LRT station, saying the combination can help commuters save both time and money while reducing the stress of navigating Metro Manila traffic.

Wilma encouraged commuters to consider transport choices that make daily travel more efficient and less mentally exhausting.

Why the partnership made sense

Wilma said accepting the partnership with MOVE IT felt natural because it reflected her own experiences.

She described herself as someone who came from humble beginnings, is a mother, and has firsthand experience commuting. Those shared experiences, she said, made it easy to connect with the campaign.

The episode also resonated with viewers, many of whom shared similar stories in the comments. Some recalled spending hours traveling from Cavite, while others said they now use MOVE IT to book rides for family members heading to school or work.

Small details that matter to commuters

The discussion also touched on hygiene, particularly shared helmets used by motorcycle taxi passengers.

Wilma raised a concern familiar to many riders before pointing out that MOVE IT offers motorcycle taxi accessories, including bonnets, scarves, and caps, through GrabMart for commuters who prefer using their own protective gear.

Beyond convenience, the company also highlighted safety features available on its platform, including Trip Monitoring, Share Your Ride, SOS support, AudioProtect, Fatigue Nudges, and Overspeeding Alerts.

For Wilma, the conversation ultimately came back to something simple: making everyday commuting a little less stressful. Whether through public transportation or motorcycle taxis, having more reliable options can help commuters spend less time worrying about the journey and more time focusing on work, family, and everything else waiting at their destination.
