MANILA, Philippines (Jul 2026) — Electric vehicles are moving fast, but Xiaomi’s latest SUV wants to change what happens inside the car while it’s moving. The SkyNomad is less about raw power and more about turning the cabin into a comfortable space that works, relaxes, or entertains.
The SkyNomad is designed around a tall wagon silhouette that maximizes interior room. It is an important launch because Xiaomi’s car division proved it could build software-defined vehicles, and now it is applying that same thinking to family-friendly SUVs.
Inside the sky lounge
From the driver’s seat, everything revolves around screens. There is a small digital instrument cluster and a large central infotainment display. But the standout feature is the optional rear-seat screen that can pop down from the ceiling.
That rear screen gives backseat passengers their own entertainment system without requiring a tablet mount. Xiaomi shows off the idea with a lounge-style interior, including optional seats with footrests and ventilation.
Range and performance
The SkyNomad comes in a single-motor rear-wheel-drive version and a dual-motor all-wheel-drive version. The base trim targets roughly 700 km of range under the CLTC cycle. The performance version is quicker, but Xiaomi did not publish exact figures publicly.
A dual-motor AWD variant is expected later. Xiaomi’s pricing and exact Philippine market launch date have not yet been confirmed.

Xiaomi EV has not confirmed local distribution plans yet, but the SkyNomad has all the features that appeal to Filipino families. The brand’s local smartphone success makes it one to watch in the EV space.
