SINGAPORE (Feb 2025) — HoYoverse announced the upcoming launch of Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.1, titled “Light Slips the Gate, Shadow Greets the Throne,” set to go live on February 26. The update introduces a new map, fresh storylines, and two playable characters, Tribbie and Mydei, as players continue the Flame-Chase Journey to uncover mysteries and reignite hope with the Coreflame.
In this chapter, Trailblazers venture into the “Grove of Epiphany,” a city-state known as Amphoreus’ center of knowledge and a crucial ally in the ongoing battle against the black tide. The Grove, once a sanctuary of learning, is now under siege. Players must rescue survivors, uncover hidden truths, and protect Cerces’ Coreflame from a shadowy enemy.
The update also unlocks the “Abyss of Fate,” a region with echoes of the past that reveal the secrets of the “Era Chrysea” and the mysterious character Tribbie. As the Holy Maiden of Janusopolis, Tribbie once spread a prophecy of Deliverance across Amphoreus. In battle, she uses her Quantum abilities along the Path of Harmony, boosting allies and deploying zones that increase enemy damage while triggering powerful follow-up attacks.
Joining her is Mydei, the crown prince of Castrum Kremnos and a warrior of resilience. As an Imaginary-type character following the Path of Destruction, Mydei draws on his immense HP reserves to charge into battle, enhancing his attacks and automatically striking enemies with increased damage.
The event also sees the return of fan-favorite characters Yunli and Huohuo, with their limited-time banners available during the first and second halves of the update, respectively.
Beyond character updates, players can engage in new activities like the Divergent Universe challenge, which introduces a “Day and Night” battle system. Each phase alters combat dynamics, offering strategic variety and connections to Amphoreus’ mythology. Meanwhile, “The Awooo Firm” event tasks players with managing a chimera squad, guiding the team to success in Okhema.
