MANILA, Philippines (Jun 2025) – The Philippines has positioned itself as Southeast Asia’s emerging blockchain powerhouse following the successful conclusion of Philippine Blockchain Week 2025, which drew thousands of global industry leaders to Manila’s SMX Convention Center.
The two-day conference, held June 10-11, transformed four convention halls into a comprehensive blockchain ecosystem. From gaming zones that introduced Filipino youth to Web3 technology to high-stakes policy discussions with government officials, the event demonstrated the country’s readiness to lead the region’s digital transformation.
“PBW 2025 was more than just an event, it was a declaration that the Philippines is ready to lead in the Web3 space,” said Dr. Donald Lim, President of Blockchain Council of the Philippines and co-founder of Philippine Blockchain Week.
The conference attracted attendees ranging from blockchain developers and investors to government regulators and creative industry professionals. Notable participants included House Representative Richelle Louise Singson-Michael, Department of Information and Communications Technology Director Emmy Delfin, and Malaysian Ambassador Malik Melvin Castelino.
Hall 1 focused on youth engagement through Nexus Academia, powered by Tier One Entertainment. Interactive gaming zones and digital experiences served as entry points for young Filipinos to explore blockchain technology.
Hall 2 combined entertainment with education through Chain Stars events, where rising indie artists and content creators shared stages with blockchain educators offering introductory lessons.
The main conference activities took place in Hall 3, featuring keynote speeches and panel discussions on policy development, decentralized finance, artificial intelligence integration, and digital identity solutions.
Hall 4 served dual purposes as a technical workshop space during the day and transformed into a boxing arena for Crypto Fight Night on June 10 evening. Eight matches between world-class fighters brought high-energy entertainment to the blockchain community.
Janelle Barretto, President and co-founder of Philippine Blockchain Week, emphasized the strength of both local and international participation. “The collaboration we saw proves that the Philippines is ramping up to be the blockchain hub of Southeast Asia,” she said.
Co-founder Chezka Gonzales, Vice President of Blockchain Council of the Philippines, highlighted the event’s inclusive approach. “From gaming to governance, this event showed how blockchain is touching real lives, and we’re just getting started.”
The conference facilitated partnerships between Filipino blockchain companies and international organizations. Industry leaders participated in discussions about cross-border collaborations and sustainable growth strategies for the broader Southeast Asian region.
Government support was evident through participation from multiple departments including the Department of Trade and Industry, Department of Budget and Management, and local government officials from Pasay City.
Major sponsors included OKX, ONCHAIN, Political Pump, DVCode, Maya, and Venom Foundation. International co-host 9CAT Group of Thailand joined local organizer Blockchain Council of the Philippines in staging the event.
Looking ahead, organizers announced Philippine Blockchain Week 2026 will feature expanded programming focused on scaling real-world blockchain adoption across the Asia-Pacific region. The team also plans PBWx events in the third and fourth quarters of 2025, alongside the Global Blockchain Congress in Bataan this October.
For Filipino blockchain enthusiasts and global investors seeking opportunities in Southeast Asia’s fastest-growing digital economy, Philippine Blockchain Week has established itself as the region’s premier industry gathering. Registration information for future events is available through the Philippine Blockchain Week official channels.
