MANILA, Philippines (Jul 2025) – Chinese smartphone manufacturer itel Philippines has launched the City100, a budget-friendly device targeting young Filipino consumers who prioritize style and durability in their mobile technology choices.
The new smartphone features a 7.65mm slim design with magnetic accessories, including a snap-on speaker called Magspeaker. The device aims to compete in the crowded Philippine smartphone market where consumers typically seek affordable options with premium features.
Key specifications include a 6.75-inch display with 700 nits brightness, 5200mAh battery with 18W fast charging, and IP64 water resistance rating. The phone runs on DeepSeek AI system, which the company claims learns user habits to optimize performance over time.
“City100 represents our commitment to bringing advanced technology to Filipino users at accessible price points,” said an itel Philippines representative in a press release obtained by our editors.
The device comes in two variants: a 12GB RAM model with 128GB storage priced at 6,999 pesos, and a 24GB RAM version at 7,999 pesos. Both models feature extended RAM technology that combines physical and virtual memory.
itel backs the City100 with a 60-month performance guarantee and 4-year battery health warranty, addressing common consumer concerns about device longevity in the Philippine market.
The smartphone launches exclusively on TikTok from July 4-16, reflecting the brand’s focus on social media-savvy Filipino youth. The launch bundle includes a smartwatch model 025.
For Filipino consumers seeking affordable smartphones with premium features, the City100 represents itel’s latest attempt to capture market share in one of Southeast Asia’s most competitive mobile markets.
