MANILA, Philippines (Jul. 1) – HUAWEI is bringing a new device to the Philippines aimed at professionals and artists, combining the functions of a computer, tablet, and digital artboard into a single, portable package.
The company announced the upcoming launch of the HUAWEI MatePad Pro 12.2” (2025). According to a press release obtained by our editors, the device is designed to offer PC-level performance for demanding tasks. It integrates with a detachable HUAWEI Glide Keyboard, which includes a storage and charging slot for the new HUAWEI M-Pencil stylus.
For productivity, the tablet includes lifetime free access to a PC-level WPS Office Suite 2.0, allowing users to work on documents and presentations. A feature called Live Multi Task enables running three resizable application windows simultaneously. The device also supports NearLink 2.0 for stable connection to its accessories.
A key feature highlighted for creatives is the Tandem OLED PaperMatte Display. HUAWEI says its nano-etched, anti-glare surface provides a paper-like texture for drawing and reduces eye strain, making it usable in bright sunlight. The accompanying HUAWEI M-Pencil (3rd Generation) supports over 16,000 levels of pressure sensitivity for precise input.
The tablet comes with GoPaint, a free, built-in application developed by HUAWEI for digital art. The app includes features like 3D Oil Painting brushes, True-Color brushes, and simple animation tools, along with tutorials for users of all skill levels.
Despite its 12.2-inch screen, the device is built for portability, weighing 512 grams and measuring 5.5 millimeters thick. It is equipped with a 10,100mAh battery, which the company claims can provide up to 14 hours of use on a single charge.
