BERLIN, Germany (Aug 2026) – Managing a smart home often feels like a full-time job filled with endless setup menus, timer schedules, and app toggles. LG Electronics wants to change that experience by allowing you to control your living space using regular conversational text messages.
At IFA 2026, the company introduced ThinQ Claw, an intelligent chat agent designed for the LG AI Home ecosystem. Instead of requiring rigid automation rules, this new system understands user intent and context to handle household chores and device settings naturally.
How ThinQ Claw handles daily tasks
Built on an open-agent concept, ThinQ Claw reads between the lines of your daily life. If you mention that your child is starting summer break, the system suggests cooling routines for weekday afternoons and schedules the robot vacuum before evening. Planning a trip to Vietnam? A simple text confirmation allows the system to pause active automations, turn off lights, and save electricity while you are away.
It also assists in the kitchen. By analyzing grocery items from a photo or digital receipt, ThinQ Claw can suggest recipes based on what is already inside your refrigerator.
Connected power management and security
The expanded LG AI Home ecosystem relies on Homey, the smart home platform developed by Athom, which LG acquired in 2024. This allows broad interoperability with non-LG appliances, smart meters, solar panels, and EV chargers under a unified Home Energy Management System. By adjusting power usage during peak times, it helps lower monthly electricity bills.
For commercial buildings and multi-family units, LG Electronics also presented ThinQ Pro in its European debut. All user data, connected appliances, and services across the platform are protected by the LG Shield security architecture.

Local pricing and Philippine launch details for LG ThinQ Claw and the upgraded LG AI Home features have not yet been announced.
