Kia’s newest electric SUV is here — the EV5 starts at PHP 2.3M and does 400km on a charge

PASAY CITY, Philippines (Apr. 2026) — Kia’s answer to the growing demand for practical, everyday electric vehicles just landed in the Philippines, and it comes with a 400 km range, a 5-star safety rating, and a starting price that puts it squarely in the premium-but-attainable bracket.

Kia Philippines, operating under ACMobility, officially launched the Kia EV5 at the 2026 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS), adding a compact electric SUV to its local lineup that sits between entry-level EVs and full luxury territory.

Two variants, two use cases

The EV5 comes in two configurations. The GL starts at PHP 2,298,000 (approx. $39,600) and runs a 64.2 kWh battery good for up to 400 km per charge. The GLS tops out at PHP 2,698,000 (approx. $46,500) with an 88.1 kWh battery and a 550 km range. Both variants share the same powertrain: 217 PS and 310 Nm of torque on a dedicated EV platform.

Both are backed by an 8-year or 160,000 km battery warranty and a 5-year or 160,000 km vehicle warranty.

What’s inside

The cabin centers on a dual 12.3-inch screen setup covering the instrument cluster and infotainment, with Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Seating is finished in premium cloth or a cloth-and-leather combination depending on trim, with automatic temperature controls and a power-adjustable driver’s seat.

A standout practical feature is the 250V Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) outlet, which lets owners power external devices directly from the car — useful for camping, remote work setups, or emergency situations. The top-spec GLS also adds a sunroof.

On safety, the EV5 carries a 5-star ANCAP rating across all variants. The Kia Drive Wise ADAS suite includes Lane Keep Assist, Forward Collision Avoidance, Blind Spot Monitor, Surround View Monitor, and Lane Follow Assist, among others.

Design and color options

The EV5’s exterior follows Kia’s “Opposites United” design language, with a Digital Tiger Nose Grille, Star Map LED lighting, and 18-inch alloy wheels. It’s available in five colors: Frost Blue, Snow White Pearl, Starry Night Black, Shale Grey, and Ivory Silver.

Charging made easier

ACMobility is bundling a Home Charging Package with the EV5, which includes a free home charger with a one-year warranty, a PHP 25,000 (approx. $430) subsidy for standard home charger installation backed by a two-year workmanship warranty, and PHP 2,000 (approx. $34) in free charging credits valid for one year at any ACMobility EC Charging Station.

Where to get one

The Kia EV5 is available at the Kia booth at MIAS until April 12, with test drives on offer. Beyond the show, it will be sold at 25 authorized Kia EV dealerships across Metro Manila and key Luzon cities including Bacoor, Clark, Lipa, Pampanga, and Sta. Rosa.
