HONOR 600 review: Mid-range AI king?

HONOR 600 has officially landed in the Philippines, and it is making quite a stir. On the surface, it looks like a familiar premium device, but under the hood, it’s a powerhouse that prioritizes durability, AI-driven creativity, and a battery that refuses to quit.

As HONOR’s latest midrange contender for 2026, the HONOR 600 aims to be more than just a routine update: it’s a complete package designed for the modern Filipino user.

Build quality, design

There’s no avoiding the elephant in the room: the HONOR 600 looks remarkably like an iPhone 17 Pro. From its flat sides and contoured corners to the layout of the rear camera island, the design identity is heavily “inspired.” However, once you hold it, the build quality tells its own story.

The phone features a cold-carved unibody with a matte metal frame and a translucent composite fiber back. Despite packing a massive battery, it maintains a sleek 7.8mm profile and weighs a manageable 190g.

What truly sets it apart is its durability. It boasts IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings, meaning it can survive submersion, high-pressure water jets, and even high temperatures.

With SGS 5-star drop and crush resistance, this is easily one of the toughest phones in the midrange segment.

Display

The HONOR 600 sports a 6.57-inch AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 2728 x 1264. HONOR claims a staggering 8,000 nits of peak HDR brightness. While that “peak” is reserved for specific HDR content, the practical result is a screen that remains perfectly legible even under the harsh Philippine noon sun.

The bezels are uniform and insanely thin, providing an immersive viewing experience.

A unique addition is the “Motion Sickness Relief” feature, which uses subtle on-screen cues to help users who get dizzy while using their phones in moving vehicles … a small but thoughtful touch for commuters.

Camera

The headline feature is the 200MP main camera (f/1.9) with CIPA 6.0 OIS. This high-level stabilization allows for sharp handheld shots in low light, making it a dream for night market photography in Binondo. While it lacks a dedicated telephoto lens (reserved for the Pro model), the sensor-crop zoom at 2x provides surprisingly clean results.

The real fun lies in the AI suite:

  • Magic Color: This feature allows you to extract “film recipes” from reference photos. If you love the look of a Fujifilm or Kodak film simulation, you can show the phone a reference image, and it will mimic that aesthetic for your shots.
  • AI Image to Video 2.0: Powered by Google Veo, this tool turns your still photos into cinematic 3-to-8-second clips with AI-generated motion and sound.

Performance

Powering the device is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4. In daily tasks and multitasking, the experience is fluid and snappy, with AnTuTu scores surpassing the 1 million mark.

For gamers, it’s a reliable performer for titles like Mobile Legends and Call of Duty Mobile, which run smoothly at 90 FPS. However, for “heavy” titles like Wuthering Waves or Genshin Impact, you’ll want to keep the settings at low-to-medium to maintain a stable frame rate, as the hardware is optimized more for efficiency than raw gaming power.

The phone debuts MagicOS 10 (Android 16), which introduces a dedicated physical AI Button. This button is a game-changer, allowing you to quickly launch screen recognition tools or act as a customized camera shutter. Perhaps most impressively, HONOR is promising six years of major OS upgrades, ensuring longevity.

Battery

If battery life is your priority, look no further. The HONOR 600 packs a 7,000mAh silicon-carbon battery that is remarkably thin. In testing, it achieved over 41 hours of video loop time, easily lasting two full days of moderate use.

Charging is handled via 80W wired SuperCharge, reaching 100% in about an hour to 90 minutes. It also supports 27W reverse wired charging, effectively turning your phone into a fast power bank for your earbuds or a friend’s dying device.

Verdict

The HONOR 600 is an S-Tier midrange choice for those who value battery endurance, premium durability, and a clean aesthetic.

While the lack of a telephoto lens and the slightly distorted audio at high volumes are minor nitpicks, the overall value proposition is strong, especially considering the aggressive pre-order pricing.

Pricing, availability (Philippines)

  • 8GB + 256GB: ₱28,999 SRP (₱25,999 Pre-order)
  • 12GB + 256GB: ₱32,999
  • 12GB + 512GB: ₱37,999
  • 12GB + 512GB: ₱49,999 (HONOR 600 Pro)

For the creator who wants to lighten their “everyday carry” without sacrificing power or style, the HONOR 600 is a compelling, tough-as-nails daily driver.
