This mechanical keyboard lets you throw a grenade by pressing harder and no, it’s not AI-powered

MANILA, Philippines (May 2026) — One key. Two actions. No extra binds.

Logitech G’s latest gaming keyboard, the G512 X TMR Analog/Mechanical Gaming Keyboard, does something no keyboard has done before: it lets players assign two separate actions to a single key based on how deep they press it. Tap lightly to equip a grenade. Press all the way down to throw it. The key knows the difference.

This is possible through SAPP (Second Actuation Pressure Point) rings, small accessories that slip onto individual key stems to create a physical bump at a second trigger depth. Players can map both actuation points independently through Logitech’s G HUB software, turning a single keystroke into a two-stage input.

A keyboard that reads depth, not just presses

The G512 X runs on TMR (Tunnel Magneto Resistance) sensor technology, which tracks the precise depth of every keypress rather than simply registering on or off. It’s the same concept that’s made analog sticks essential in racing and flight games, now applied to a full keyboard.

Combined with True 8K performance — covering polling rate, reporting rate, and processing — the G512 X delivers an end-to-end response time of 0.125ms. For context, most gaming keyboards sit at 1ms. The gap is small in absolute terms, but in competitive play, it’s the kind of edge that adds up.

Mix-and-match switches

The G512 X is built around 39 hybrid TMR switch beds, each compatible with both analog switches and standard 3-pin or 5-pin mechanical switches. It ships with nine Gateron KS-20 magnetic analog switches pre-installed in the WASD cluster, but players can fill the rest of the board with whatever mechanical switches they prefer.

This is what Logitech G calls Dual Swap capability: analog precision for movement keys, mechanical feel for everything else, and the option to reconfigure at will.

Available in 75% and 98% layouts, both in black and white, the keyboard also includes two fully assignable physical dials, a PVD-coated RGB lightbar, and built-in storage at the back for included accessories: the keycap puller, spare analog switches, and SAPP rings.

An acrylic palm rest is sold separately for both layouts.

Part of the G5 Series

Logitech G positions the G512 X alongside the G502 X Plus LIGHTSPEED wireless mouse and G522 LIGHTSPEED wireless headset as part of its G5 Series lineup, an ecosystem aimed at players who want hardware that adjusts to their style rather than the other way around.

“The G512 X is our love letter to the gamers who mod their gear as much as they mod their games,” said SM Lahti, Global Product Marketing Manager at Logitech G.

The G512 X is priced at PHP 11,995 (approx. $205) for the 75% layout and PHP 12,995 (approx. $222) for the 98% layout. It is available now on Shopee and Lazada official stores, as well as through Logitech’s authorized retail partners and gaming specialists nationwide.
