Virtual tankers are about to blast heavy metal anthems while crushing enemy vehicles in a massive musical crossover. The annual fan-favorite event, Metal Fest 2026, officially storms into World of Tanks Modern Armor as the main attraction of the new Masters of Mayhem Season.
This year, the battlefield gets injected with pure adrenaline featuring multi-platinum rock powerhouse Five Finger Death Punch as the headline act. Running from August 4 through August 24, Act 1 gives players access to band-inspired challenges, earnable discounts, and heavy-duty rewards. After a brief intermission, a second mystery headliner will take the stage on September 1 to kick off Act 2.
Custom tanks and rock star commanders
Gamers can roll out in two brand-new premium tanks built in collaboration with the band. The FFDP Knucklehead Tank is a durable, front-line heavy vehicle featuring the band’s iconic mascot, towering brass knuckles on the turret, and custom battle-worn artwork. Selecting this tank even plays the band’s latest hit single, “Eye of the Storm,” straight from their tenth studio album, Legacy.
For those who prefer a darker aesthetic, the FFDP Iron Fist Tank Destroyer features a steel finish, red handprints, and a menacing battery of five oversized missiles mounted on the rear. While waiting in the garage, this beast plays the band’s 2017 hit track, “Trouble.”
The crossover also introduces five exclusive 2D Commanders representing each band member, alongside a fully voiced 3D Commander of the legendary mascot, Knucklehead, voiced by lead singer Ivan Moody himself. Moody shared his excitement about celebrating the band’s 20th anniversary with this collaboration, noting that the team had a blast hiding Easter eggs for players to find.
The return of the mosh pit
The update marks the return of “Rush the Stage” mode, a fast-paced 7v7 battle experience with respawns set on a festival-themed Ghost Town map. The arena comes alive with concert stages, dazzling lights, and even stationary taco trucks that players can destroy to earn bonus medals.
The event is now live on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
