Apple Pay is officially live in the Philippines. Apple made the launch official on August 4, 2026, and the wait that started with rumors and “Supports Wallet” hints is finally over.

The official list of banks that support Apple Pay
Apple’s support page lists exactly four Philippine banks. These are the only banks with officially supported cards right now, and every card type listed below works.

UnionBank has the widest coverage with both Visa and Mastercard in both credit and debit. Metrobank is close behind, while Chinabank and GoTyme cover Visa plus a narrower set.

Not on the list yet
BPI, EastWest, and other banks that showed “Supports Wallet” on the App Store are not on Apple’s official list yet. The App Store signal was real, but the official support page is the source of truth.
BPI has confirmed it has already tokenized its cards, so its inclusion is likely a matter of time. Watch Apple’s support page for the update.
Digital banks like Maya, CIMB, and others are also not on the official list, even though their apps may show wallet related hints.
The launch details
The Philippine launch includes support from 45 in store merchants, while Maya Business will enable Apple Pay acceptance for more than 5,000 online merchants.
That online number is the big one. Maya Business powers a huge share of Philippine e-commerce payments, so thousands of online stores will accept Apple Pay at checkout, not just the launch merchants.
Apple’s vice president of Apple Pay and Apple Wallet, Jennifer Bailey, welcomed the launch: “The Philippines is home to a digital-first generation that is rapidly embracing a vision for a cashless future.”
How Apple Pay works in the Philippines
Add your eligible debit or credit card to Apple Wallet on your iPhone or Apple Watch. In stores, double click the side button, authenticate with Face ID or Touch ID, and hold your device near the contactless terminal.
Apple says your card number is never stored on the device or its servers. Each payment uses an encrypted device account number stored securely on the device, so merchants never see your real card number.
It works on iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad, and Mac, and it is the same tap to pay experience Android users have had through Google Pay since November 2025.
How to add your card
Open the Wallet app on your iPhone and tap the plus button to add a card. Choose debit or credit, then follow the prompts to verify with your bank.
For some banks, verification is instant. For others, your bank may send a code or require a quick confirmation in your banking app.
Once added, your card works at any contactless terminal, which includes most modern POS systems in Philippine malls, restaurants, and stores.
