MANILA, Philippines (Aug 2026) — Welcoming a new baby just got a lot easier for employees at Trip.com Group as the global travel service provider introduces a minimum of 20 days of paid paternity leave.
The new policy significantly boosts the benefits for Pinoy staff, adding an extra 13 days to the existing seven-day statutory entitlement. This means eligible fathers in the Philippines will now enjoy a total of 20 fully paid days off to focus on shared caregiving and family life. The first phase of this rollout took effect on Aug. 1, covering selected Asian markets, with other regions following later this year.
More support for growing families
This expanded leave is part of the newly released 2025 Sustainability Report from Trip.com Group, which highlights its family, community, environment, and stakeholder pillars.
The company has also heavily invested in its childcare subsidy program. In 2025, it poured about USD 1.6 million (approx. PHP 92.8 million) into the initiative, helping 1,114 employees. Since its launch, the subsidy has supported more than 2,000 families, contributing to a perfect 100 percent return-to-work rate among female employees after maternity leave.
Workplace diversity is also a major focus, with women holding 33.1 percent of senior management positions and over 52 percent of management roles in key revenue-generating areas.
Big moves for green travel and local communities
The sustainability report highlights major climate milestones as well. The company became the first online travel service provider in the Asia Pacific region to get its near-term and net-zero greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets validated by the Science Based Targets initiative, or SBTi.
Eco-conscious travelers are responding well, too. In 2025, around 2.74 million users chose lower-carbon business travel options, generating over 23 million lower-carbon bookings throughout the year.
On the community side, a USD 100 million (approx. PHP 5.8 billion) Tourism Innovation Fund was launched at the 2025 Global Partner Conference to back creative destination projects. Meanwhile, its Country Retreats initiative has created over 400 direct jobs and supported roughly 11,000 indirect employment opportunities over the past year to help boost local economies.
For travelers needing urgent help, the upgraded Global SOS Platform now handles 24 languages and 20 emergency scenarios, resolving more than 23,000 assistance requests across 100 destinations by the end of 2025.
Jane Sun, CEO of Trip.com Group, noted that the future of travel must create positive outcomes for both society and the planet, emphasizing that the company is actively investing in its workforce and accelerating climate action.
