Six teams, one quick sprint to the crown
Six squads will battle over a compressed stretch of playdates that the Premier Volleyball League describes as much a test of endurance, recovery and composure as of talent. PLDT is chasing back-to-back Invitational crowns and a third title overall.
PLDT vs EST Cola: an unfamiliar opener
The High Speed Hitters take the court at 1:30 p.m. against EST Cola of Thailand, a side built on speed, tactical creativity and fighting spirit. PLDT parades Savi Davison, Kim Dy, Alleiah Malaluan, Majoy Baron and Mika Reyes, with prized newcomer Leila Cruz, the second overall pick by Capital1 two years ago, making her debut under coach Rald Ricafort.
Creamline, Nxled and Farm Fresh round out the day
At 4 p.m., Creamline parades Sachi Minowa, the former Jaja Santiago, against a revamped Nxled side led by Brooke Van Sickle and new setter Gel Cayuna. Farm Fresh then meets Vietnamese guest team Ho Chi Minh at 6:30 p.m..
