MANILA, Philippines (Sep 2026) – Two Pinoy teams have claimed the only two spots for the Garena region at the upcoming Call of Duty: Mobile World Championship 2026 Finals in Mexico City.
Alula SC took top honors at the Garena Qualifier after a thrilling 4-2 victory against fellow local squad ELEVATE in the Grand Final. The outcome capped off a complete sweep by Pinoy teams, who snatched all four Playoff spots during the three-week tournament.
Along with securing their tickets to Mexico, Alula SC took home $4,500 (approx. PHP 256,500) in cash prizes, while runner-up ELEVATE earned $3,000 (approx. PHP 171,000).
A thrilling rematch in the finals
The Garena Qualifier brought together 10 of the best squads across Indonesia, Thailand, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, Malaysia, and the Philippines. After fighting through the Play-In and Group Stages, four local rosters advanced to the Playoffs: ELEVATE, Alula SC, Rival Esports, and Vizualz SKAERI.
ELEVATE kicked off the Playoffs with dominant 3-0 wins against Vizualz SKAERI and Alula SC, cruising straight into the Grand Final. Alula SC fought their way back through the Lower Bracket, sweeping Rival Esports 3-0 to set up a high-stakes rematch.
In the Grand Final, Alula SC turned the tables on ELEVATE, pulling off a 4-2 comeback win to take the crown.
Heading to the world stage
This victory builds on a strong run for both squads, who also captured the top two places at the Garena Summer Invitational 2026 earlier this year.
Alula SC and ELEVATE will represent the region against 14 other qualified teams at the Call of Duty: Mobile World Championship 2026 Finals, set for December 4 to 6 in Mexico City. For ELEVATE, this marks a return to global competition after placing second at the 2025 World Championship in Katowice, Poland.
