MANILA, Philippines (Sep 2026) – Getting into global investment markets just got easier as EastWest drops the minimum entry point for US dollar Treasury Bills and Bonds to USD 10,000 (approx. PHP 570,000).
Investing in foreign currency assets used to require serious capital. Typical market thresholds range between USD 50,000 and USD 200,000 (approx. PHP 2.85 million to PHP 11.4 million), keeping these options out of reach for many everyday Pinoy wealth builders.
Lowering barriers for Pinoy investors
To make dollar investments more accessible, the bank teamed up with Philippine Dealing Services Corp. to offer transparent pricing and lower entry costs. The institution also listed 21 US dollar Treasury Bills in the central securities depository, opening up access to investors nationwide.
For those who still find the initial cost high, a feature called Bond Pooling allows several investors to join forces and combine their funds to meet minimum thresholds. These combined initiatives drove a 390% year-on-year surge in investment volume.
Industry recognition and priority banking growth
These wealth management efforts earned EastWest two awards from International Finance Magazine (IFM): Most Innovative Securities Broker in the Philippines and Best Priority Banking Experience in the Philippines. This marks the fourth consecutive year the bank has won the priority banking award.
EastWest Priority offers personalized portfolio solutions, market intelligence, and lifestyle perks across its 13 dedicated Priority Banking centers nationwide. By the end of 2025, assets under management for the priority division expanded by 40% year on year.
“We want more clients to participate in investment opportunities that may have seemed out of reach before, while giving them advice that is relevant to where they are in their financial journey,” said Rafael S. Algarra Jr., SEVP and Head of Financial Markets and Wealth Management at EastWest.
