ABS-CBN Foundation gives aid to the victims of the Abra earthquake to show that they are not alone in these trying times

MANILA, Philippines – Kapamilyas in Abra who felt the powerful 7 magnitude quake on July 27 were given aid as ABS-CBN Foundation together with ABS-CBN News and Public Service trooped to Abra to provide assistance.

To show the people of Abra that they are not alone during this difficult time, around 550 families were given relief packs in barangays Cabaroan, Velasco, and Bumagcat in Tayum that is near the epicenter of the earthquake, while 427 families received immediate support in barangays Cayapa and Bacooc in the town of Lagangilang.

“Salamat din sa inyo at natunugan niyo agad kami at nag-respond kayo,” Edwin Solano, Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management officer said in an interview with “TV Patrol.”

According to Edwin, the Tayum LGU has already organized an Incident Command Post to respond to the needs of affected residents.

To help people affected by the earthquake, the public can donate through Gcash. Just tap Pay Bills, choose Others, and select #GcashGivesBack. ABS-CBN Foundation is one of the partner NGOs of Gcash that will receive the donations.
