QUEZON CITY, Philippines (Aug 2026): A massive financial boost is coming to ensure a beloved media network stays on its feet for the long run. The network is set to raise PHP 6 billion (approx. $103.4 million) in new equity to strengthen its balance sheet. This capital injection will help accelerate a total transformation into a sustainable, content-focused entertainment powerhouse for Pinoy viewers.
Where the billions are coming from
Three branches of the Lopez family are leading the charge, committing an aggregate of PHP 2.2 billion (approx. $37.9 million) from their personal resources. This funding will come through Crème Investment Corporation, Mantes Corporation, and Presta Holdings Company Inc. To support the network further, Lopez Inc. is also chipping in an additional PHP 300 million (approx. $5.2 million) in shares.
A major backer enters the picture
The single largest chunk of the funding comes from I&C Holdings Corp., a wholly Philippine-owned private investment firm that specializes in long-term corporate turnarounds. The firm is subscribing to PHP 3.5 billion (approx. $60.3 million) worth of shares.
Representatives from I&C Holdings Corp. noted that the media giant has built valuable brands, intellectual property, and deep relationships with Pinoy audiences globally. They emphasized that these assets provide a solid foundation for the company to adapt and create long-term value.
A vote of confidence
This move aims to give the media giant the resources it needs to build a sustainable, content-led media ecosystem. Mark Lopez, chairman of ABS-CBN Corporation, explained that the massive investment represents a significant vote of confidence. He noted that it proves people still believe in the company and its core mission of serving the public.
All investments are currently subject to the execution of separate definitive agreements and standard corporate and regulatory approvals.
