BANGKOK, Thailand (Aug 2026) – Pinoy storytelling continues to shine across Asia as three major local productions took home honors at the ContentAsia Awards 2026.
Leading the pack of victors, Angelica Panganiban secured the Bronze trophy for Best Female Lead in a TV Programme or Series Made in Asia. Her performance as Jackie Carpio in the mystery-thriller limited series “The Silent Noise” captivated international judges. The ten-episode show, produced by ABS-CBN Studios and Prime Video under the direction of Onat Diaz, dives into the dark secrets of a family unraveling after the mysterious death of their deaf son’s teacher.
Big wins for Pinoy films and series
The accolades did not stop with acting. “Call Me Mother,” a comedy-drama directed by Jun Robles Lana and starring Vice Ganda alongside Nadine Lustre, brought home the Silver award for Best Feature Film or Telemovie Made in Asia. The movie tells the heart-rending story of a queer foster mother striving to legally adopt her foster son when his biological mother suddenly re-enters his life.
Meanwhile, the local adaptation of the hit Korean drama “It’s Okay to Not Be Okay” earned Silver for Best TV Format Adaptation (Scripted) in Asia. Starring Anne Curtis, Joshua Garcia, and Carlo Aquino, the series tackles childhood trauma, mental health, and healing, proving that deeply emotional Pinoy adaptations resonate far beyond domestic borders.
A global stage for local talent
Now in its seventh year, the ContentAsia Awards evaluates the finest video content from across the region. This year’s competition saw more than 500 entries across 35 categories, judged by a panel of over 100 global industry experts. Out of more than 180 nominees, Pinoy creatives once again demonstrated that local stories belong on the world stage.
