BANGKOK, Thailand (Oct 2026) — One of the founding fathers of the first-person shooter is coming to Bangkok. John Romero, co-founder of id Software and co-creator of Doom, Quake, and Wolfenstein 3D, will headline the business-area conference at gamescom asia x Thailand Game Show 2026 with a keynote titled “Why We Still Make Games.”
The event runs from 29 October to 1 November 2026 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC) in Bangkok, bringing together the professional games industry, gamers, and creators under one roof.
A keynote from a legend
Romero’s appearance marks one of the biggest draws for the show’s business conference, which gathers developers, publishers, and investors across the region. His keynote is expected to reflect on decades of game-making, from the groundbreaking shooters of the 1990s to today’s sprawling live-service titles.
