Beauty queen and content creator Joy Barcoma has stepped away from the comedy podcast Dogshow Divas, telling followers she is choosing to protect my peace after online criticism over how often she guested on the show.
Protecting her peace
On Monday evening, Barcoma announced the decision on her Facebook page, saying she had read comments about her guestings and that how often she appears is not something she personally controls.
“Grateful ako to everyone who supported us, but for now, I’m choosing to protect my peace. All the best to Dogshow Divas!” the Miss Philippines Earth 2025 titleholder wrote.
What sparked the decision
Barcoma had been appearing on the podcast since February, and her stints grew more frequent as co-host Macoy Dubs juggled other commitments. Some listeners in the r/DogshowDivas community said they found her guestings “annoying” or felt the show’s flow lost its direction when she appeared.
She said she did not want to wait until the negativity reached her, adding: “I’m also not one to fuel a culture of hate, so I’d rather leave and wish everyone well.”
Support pours in
Barcoma’s post drew more than 43,000 reactions and nearly 730 comments. Baus Rufo and Macoy Dubs both thanked her, and production team J+ Productions said it would “never condone or tolerate hate in any form”..
