The Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV is officially back in the Philippines. Mitsubishi Motors PH began selling the flagship plug-in hybrid SUV on August 20, 2026, in a single GT AWD PHEV variant priced at P2.848 million, with a P2.749-million introductory price valid until the end of September. It is the first ASEAN introduction of the current-generation Outlander PHEV.

Two engines, one 22.7 kWh battery

The Outlander PHEV pairs a 2.4-liter MIVEC petrol engine with a 22.7 kWh lithium battery and electric motors on both axles, handing power to all four wheels through Mitsubishi’s S-AWC all-wheel-drive system. Combined output is around 306 PS and 450 Nm of torque, with seven drive modes to juggle between electric and hybrid running.

Outlander PHEV (GT AWD) Spec
Engine 2.4L MIVEC (133 PS / 195 Nm)
Battery 22.7 kWh
Front motor 116 PS / 255 Nm
Rear motor 136 PS / 195 Nm
Combined output ~306 PS / 450 Nm
Drive S-AWC all-wheel drive
EV-only range ~100 km (CarGuide) / 86 km (WLTP)

Dimensions and the generational jump

The Outlander PHEV spans 4,720 mm nose to tail with a 2,704 mm wheelbase and around 199 mm of ground clearance, room for five on board. This is the fourth-generation model newly introduced to the Philippines, and the headline change is a bigger 22.7 kWh battery versus the roughly 20 kWh in the old local version, which is what stretches the electric running.

The range, honestly

Mitsubishi bills the Outlander as ‘electric for everyday driving, hybrid for longer journeys.’ Philippine figures put the combined range around 1,000 km with roughly 100 km of pure-electric running, while the widely cited European WLTP cycle lists a more conservative 86 km EV range and around 844 km combined. Battery charge time is about 6.5 hours on a standard 230-volt wall outlet.

What you get on the GT trim

The GT trim is loaded with dual 12.3-inch screens, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an eight-speaker Yamaha system, a head-up display, a smart rearview mirror, a panoramic sunroof and 20-inch two-tone wheels. On safety it carries seven airbags, a 360-degree camera and Mitsubishi’s full MMSS advanced driver-assistance suite, plus rain-sensing wipers and sequential turn signals. It is offered in White Diamond, Red Diamond and Black Diamond paint. The current-generation Outlander traces its roots to 2013, when Mitsubishi launched the world’s first SUV-type plug-in hybrid, a format it has since sold in more than 60 countries, topping PHEV sales in Canada for three straight years through 2025.

Why it matters for the PH market

The Outlander PHEV arrives into a suddenly crowded plug-in and hybrid SUV fight, where rivals like the BYD Sealion 08, the Lynk and Co 900 PHEV and the GAC GS4 Max HEV are all chasing eco-minded buyers, a wave covered by the wider EV incentive push. Mitsubishi, which Philippine coverage frames as launching this model ‘to fight off Chinese EV rivals’, is leaning on AWD capability and a 1,000 km combined range as its argument that a plug-in can be both green and genuinely practical.

The bottom line

At under P2.85 million for a single loaded trim, the Outlander PHEV is Mitsubishi’s strongest statement yet in the Philippine eco-SUV segment. If its long combined range and AWD convince buyers, it could be the pick that keeps Mitsubishi relevant in the electrified lane, not just the workhorse-truck lane.
