In its quest to defy the limits of creativity, Power Mac Center launched its campaign called Pixelworx. The concept is to marry ideas, technology and art through various platforms and art events. As part this campaign, Power Mac Center introduced its four newest Art Ambassadors, Jay Contreras for Photography, Electrolychee (Marcus Nada and Bru Nada) for Graphic Design, Nikki Luna for Visual Arts and Leeroy New for Sculpture. They were introduced in a culminating event held last August 22, 2015 at the Ayala Museum.

According to Joey Alvarez, Marketing Director of Power Mac Center, the four were chosen because of the buzz they’re making in the art industry, bringing art closer to the local audiences. In the past 2 months, the 4 Art Ambassadors have been conducting free workshops and live demos at select Power Mac Center classrooms, where they share their unconventional art techniques and ideas in their own medium. A special installation of the 4 artists’ collaborative work, titled ‘Defying the Everyday Grind’ is on display at the Ayala Museum starting August 22.

Another part of the Pixelworx campaign, is a multi-media art competition, which features digitally enhanced art works. From the 100 entries, only 20 where shortlisted and only 6 were chosen as winners. The Art Ambassadors themselves went around the exhibit and decided on the Top 6 who truly dared defy the limits. The six winners received iPads, Wacom tablets, and Power Mac Center Gift Certificates.

michaelPlatinum Winner - Michael Medina 'Through My Big Boy Lens' This work depicts a desire for freedom as represented by the bird, of going beyond physical limitations, as represented by the floating body parts and making oneself truly free to explore and learn the facets of life, as represented by the wandering eye. The artist embedded a video of his eyes into the painting. The eye behind the lens is actually moving.
