Samsung just rewrote the rulebook for big-screen phones. At Galaxy Unpacked in London, the company didn’t just refresh its foldables — it split them into three distinct experiences, and the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra is the boldest, most expensive one yet. Here’s what makes it worth the price of a laptop.

Samsung just dropped its most ambitious foldables yet

At Galaxy Unpacked in London, Samsung unveiled the new Galaxy Z series — its most complete foldable lineup to date. Headlining the range are the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra and the Galaxy Z Fold8, two distinct takes on the big-screen foldable built for very different kinds of users.

Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra: Ultra productivity, unfolded

The Fold8 Ultra brings Samsung’s renowned Ultra standard to foldables. Its expansive 8-inch main display opens into a productive workspace for multitasking, backed by an advanced camera system and long-lasting battery for all-day content creation. It arrives in Samsung’s slimmest Z Fold design yet — just 4.1 mm when unfolded.

For the first time on a Galaxy foldable, the Ultra standard means maximum screen real estate paired with Galaxy AI tuned for the larger canvas: easier multitasking, on-screen summaries, and partner experiences like Gemini Intelligence that get things done in fewer steps — with privacy and user control built in.

Galaxy Z Fold8: built for immersion

The Galaxy Z Fold8 reimagines the foldable for everyday discovery. At just 201 g, it’s Samsung’s lightest Galaxy Z Fold ever, pairing the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy with a larger 4,800 mAh battery for lasting power.

Its display ratios adapt to how you actually consume content: a familiar 10:16 cover screen for quick messages and short-form video, a 4:3 main display for games and films, and a rotated reading mode for articles and e-books — no second device needed.

Tougher screens, smarter cameras

Samsung’s new Flex Titanium technology uses a titanium-based display structure to make foldables thinner while absorbing impact and reducing crease visibility over time. Both Fold models hit up to 3,000 nits of brightness with a low-reflection finish for outdoor clarity.

Photography gets a boost from dual 50 MP cameras (wide and ultra-wide), Dual Recording that previews you through the cover screen, and My FanCam, which auto-tracks a subject and reframes footage into social-ready video with less manual editing.

Philippine pricing

The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra starts at Php 123,990 (256GB), with 512GB at Php 137,990 and 1TB at Php 165,990. The Galaxy Z Fold8 is priced at Php 109,990 (256GB), Php 123,990 (512GB) and Php 151,990 (1TB).

Samsung is inviting readers to tune in to Galaxy Unpacked and register for up to Php 2,000 in guaranteed e-vouchers and a chance to win a brand-new Galaxy device.
