MANILA, Philippines – Samsung powers the Philippine gaming community as the official tech partner of the ninth season of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League – Philippines (MPL-PH), which culminated with the Grand Finals last May 1, 2022.
RSG overtook Smart Omega in a breathtaking 4-1 victory in a best-of-seven finals. RSG’s Aqua led the team to the championship with six kills, seven assists, and zero deaths in the final match.
Both RSG PH and Smart Omega will represent the Philippines in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Southeast Asia Cup (MSC) in June.
RSG PH team members include Jonard Cedrix “Demonkite” Caranto, Dylan Aaron “Light” Catipon, Eman “Emann” Sangco, Nathanael “Nathz” Estrologo, Arvie “Aqua” Antonio, Earvin John “Heath” Esperanza, Clarense Jay “Kousei” Camilo, Kenneth Jiane “Kenji” Villa, Dexter “Exort” Martinez, and Elyson Edouard “Wrecker” Caranza. Changrok “Panda” Im and Karl Luigi “Giee” Tercenio Barrientos are the team’s coach.
Smart Omega, on the other hand, consists of Patrick James “E2MAX” Caidic, Kiel VJ “Kielvj” Cruzem, Renz Errol “Renzio” Salonga Cadua, Joshua “Ch4knu” Mangilog, Grant Duane “Kelra” Pillas, Billy Jazha “Z4pnu” Alfonso, Romiere “Allidap” Padilla, Dean Christian “Raizen” Sumagui, Jhonville “Outplayed!” Borres Villar, and Cesar Jefferson “Amethyst” Santos. Jomie “Pakbet” Abalos is the team’s coach.
From eight teams, six participated in the playoffs which ran from April 28 to May 1, 2022. This season saw RSG, TNC Pro Team, ECHO, Nexplay EVOS, ONIC, and Smart Omega battle it out for the grand finals and the opportunity to compete against the best from the region.
