Why Prime Video pulled the plug
Trade sources tie the decision to a cost versus viewership math: the show was a pricey production that filmed both color and black and white versions, yet it lacked the staying power of Prime Video hits like Reacher and Off Campus. It dropped off the platform’s daily Top 10 rankings relatively quickly after launch.

A short but acclaimed story
Spider-Noir starred Cage as Ben Reilly, a down-on-his-luck private investigator in 1930s New York who doubles as the city’s only superhero. The cast also included Lamorne Morris, Li Jun Li, Karen Rodriguez, Abraham Popoola, Jack Huston and Brendan Gleeson, with co-showrunners Oren Uziel and Steve Lightfoot.
It was a milestone for Filipino Spider-Man fans tracking the wider web-slinger universe. The live-action noir series came out of the same Sony-Marvel IP that powers the record-breaking Spider-Man: Brand New Day film, and it expanded the multiverse storytelling readers have followed across every Spider-Man and Spider-Verse movie ranked on the site.
