TECNO CAMON Slim 5G packs a 6,000mAh battery into a phone just 6.39mm thin

TECNO’s CAMON Slim 5G measures just 6.39mm thin, yet packs a 6,000mAh battery, a Dimensity 7300e chip and a Sony LYT-700C camera. #TECNO #CAMONSlim5G #TechNews #Smartphone

TECNO just proved that an ultra-thin phone does not have to mean a skimpy battery. The brand pulled the wraps off the TECNO CAMON Slim 5G, a handset that measures a mere 6.39mm thick yet still squeezes in a 6,000mAh cell, and Filipino readers are clearly curious how that works. Here is everything TECNO actually announced, and what it means for buyers watching for a local price.

The 6.39mm CAMON Slim 5G

The CAMON Slim 5G follows the 4G CAMON Slim that debuted back in June at the same slender 6.39mm thickness. What changes is what is under the hood: the 5G model trades the older 4G-only chip for a MediaTek Dimensity 7300e, opening the door to faster 5G data on an octa-core processor.

  • Display: 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED, flat panel, up to 144Hz refresh
  • Battery: 6,000mAh, up to 45W fast charging
  • Protection: IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K dust and water resistance
  • Durability: MIL-STD-810H military-grade build, TUV SUD rating for 60 months of sustained fluidity
  • Selfie camera: 32MP

Slimmer, tougher, but a little slower to charge

The bigger 6,000mAh battery is a welcome step up from the 5,600mAh in the 4G version. The tradeoff is that the CAMON Slim 5G charges at up to 45W, a notch below the 60W of its 4G sibling, so topping up the larger cell takes a bit longer. In exchange you get some of the most complete water and dust ratings in the segment, plus a TUV SUD certification aimed at keeping the phone fluid for five years.

A camera bar that returns to the CAMON look

The playful AI Mood Light bar of the 4G model is gone. In its place sits a vertical camera arrangement with the swan-neck curve TECNO uses across its CAMON 5G line, and the upgrade is more than cosmetic. The 1x main shooter rides on a 1/1.56-inch Sony LYTIA 700C sensor, a module used across recent midrange and flagship phones. Portrait shots support multi-focal lengths at 24mm, 35mm and 50mm, and TECNO’s Super-Zoom FlashSnap helps freeze fast-moving action.

Software and long-term updates

Out of the box it runs HiOS 16 on top of Android 16, complete with TECNO’s current suite of on-device AI tools. TECNO is promising five years of security updates and three major Android OS upgrades, a commitment that makes the slim frame a more sensible long-term buy than the specs alone suggest.

Pricing and PH availability

TECNO has not released a specific price for the CAMON Slim 5G. The company says the phone is rolling out across various markets with local pricing yet to be announced, after first teasing the device at IFA 2026. That means Philippine pricing and a confirmed local release date are still up in the air. Given how quickly the brand brought recent handsets like the TECNO POVA 8 Pro to market, a local announcement would not be a surprise. In select markets, early buyers may also receive a three-month trial of Google AI Plus’s 2TB plan at no extra charge.
