We Filipinos love horror films a lot! Even if it’s not Halloween, we take time to watch these scary flicks almost all year round.
Just recently, we were thoughtfully invited to the Thanksgiving Party by Utmost Creatives at Gen Korean BBQ House in SM Mall of Asia for their upcoming horror film “The Lease” and directed by Italian Paolo Bertola.
During their story conference last November 2017 the production outfit is excited about the almost finished film about the story of the family of half Filipino and half Italian engineer Romano Gonzalez, played by Ruben Maria Soriquez, who moved to a new house with his family for a very big project. The beauty of the house capture the heart of the family, and there’s a strange feeling that the house was really meant for them.
Director Paolo is grateful and happy for the chance he has worked among and with Filipino cast and crew.
The director busies himself with the post-production needs.
I am looking forward to his style of directing after hearing great and positive feedbacks.
The very busy and visible Ruben Soriquez assured it’s going to be a very scary movie. “People watch horror movies because they wanted to be scared. This film is very scary. This is something nice,” shared Ruben.
This is how #TeamTheLease parties after a few months of on location filming the movie on location.
Thank you Gen Korean BBQ House for the great food! Grilling the meat with my tablemates made the thanksgiving party all the more fun and memorable.
Garie will play a character named Clara. She’s Romano’s (Ruben Maria Soriquez) supportive wife. She is a type of wife and a mother who will do her best to protect her own family. The story starts when they lease the Villa Nonita in Tagaytay, but during their stay, they will have a face-to-face encounter from a ghost of the past that keeps disturbing them. Romano meets Lolo Igme (Don Gordon Bell) who advises him to look for the first owner of the house to find the answer he was looking for.
According to Mr. Mario Alaman, the movie promises a satisfying plot and surprising twist. “It really has a good twist. We made the story just to please the audience. Every character is well thought and have something to do with the revelation of the story.”
He also shared that they are planning for a sequel. “Actually, we are planning to have sequel to this (The Lease) if the viewers would love the film,” he added.
My fun tablemates! Fellow media and blogger Rence Chan and I dined with some cast members. We had a swell time with Princess Cruz and her mom Tita Marian, Lucky Manzano who was sooo game with the eating and Sir Gordon Bell who was the main meat griller of our group. He also shared lots of Korean-related stuff especially during the war and food stuff. Soooo wicked!
The exciting and spine-tingling trailer was also shown and the intro alone set the mood of the horror flick! Super asteeeeeg!
Just some of the cast and crew of The Lease movie to be shown in cinemas sometime in July 2018.
