Missing those cool summer nights of local music by the beach? Who doesn’t?
This lockdown has been a bummer but no need to worry because the UP Economics Society is bringing summer to you! On May 2 prepare to sail towards a jam-packed night with HORIZONS: An Online Benefit Concert. HORIZONS is a fundraiser for the organization’s 14 scholars and other beneficiaries.
UP Ecosoc, a non-stock, non-profit, socio-civic student organization based in the UP School of Economics and one of the organizers behind the annual ROOTS Music Festival, is bringing back concerts through HORIZONS!
The online concert will feature your OPM household names and other rising stars such as: Gloc-9, The Juans, Johnoy Danao, Imago, Ang Bandang Shirley, Oh, Flamingo, The Ridleys, Shirebound & Busking, Carousel Casualties, allen&elle, The Vowels They Orbit, The Lan Party, @Paprika! , She.cries, Cowboy Country Club, Celina Pacana, Ecosoc Batch ’88, Batch ’96, Anorama, Element 97, and Kristiana Fabria. Yani Villarosa (@yanihatesu) and Victor Donceras will also be going beyond the horizons as their hosts.
Of course, as the title suggests, this is an online concert with a cause as UP Ecosoc encourages the public to help them out in supporting the education and dreams of their 14 scholars from various high schools and colleges. Moreover, a portion of the concert proceeds will also be allocated to COVID-19 relief operations to also aid our fellow Filipinos who have been severely affected by the pandemic.
