Students in several Luzon provinces can sleep in on Tuesday, September 1, as local governments suspend classes because of the ongoing southwest monsoon.
Which areas suspended classes
Here is the running list of class suspensions for September 1, based on local government announcements:
- Benguet (whole province): face-to-face classes suspended, pre-school to senior high school, public and private
- Pampanga: Guagua, Sta. Ana, Sta. Rita (all levels, public and private)
- Pangasinan: San Carlos City, Basista, Bayambang, Bautista (public schools), Bugallon, Alaminos, Aguilar, Mangaldan
- Rizal: Montalban (all levels, public and private)
- Tarlac: Gerona, Paniqui, Camiling, Sta. Ignacia
Why classes were suspended
The suspensions are due to inclement weather brought by the southwest monsoon, the same Habagat that has flooded roads and rivers across Luzon for weeks.
Check your LGU for updates
Local governments update their suspension lists throughout the day, so the list above may change. For the latest, check your town or city’s official page. Heavy rainfall has also been forecast over several provinces, so expect further announcements.
