CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Philippines (Aug 2026) – Moving agricultural goods, farm products, and local trade from southern provinces to major markets requires a reliable supply chain network, and 2GO is expanding its transport infrastructure to keep Pinoy businesses connected.

Speaking at the 35th Mindanao Business Conference in Cagayan de Oro City, 2GO Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer William Howell pointed out that Mindanao plays a crucial role in agriculture, manufacturing, energy, and tourism across the country. He stressed that building stronger transit connections allows local entrepreneurs, workers, and regional industries to move goods efficiently and reach wider markets.

Connecting local trade and cargo

To support regional economic growth, 2GO Forwarding currently runs 93 distribution hubs and warehouses across the country, with 18 facilities located in Mindanao. This network processes roughly 1.5 million packages, representing around 150,000 transactions every year in the region alone.

Through 2GO Sea Solutions, the company links key commercial centers by serving seven regional ports in Cagayan de Oro, Ozamiz, Butuan, Dipolog, Davao, General Santos, and Zamboanga as part of its 20-port nationwide sea network. In 2025, the shipping line transported 2.5 million metric tons of cargo to, from, and within Mindanao. The group also provides specialized services such as cold chain storage for fresh food, project logistics for development projects, e-commerce support, and rapid cross-docking.

Keeping travelers and communities moving

Passenger travel remains a vital part of regional connectivity. Through 2GO Travel, the company operates 36 active passenger sea routes nationwide, with 18 routes directly servicing Mindanao. These routes support 37 weekly voyages connecting Mindanao to Luzon and the Visayas, giving Pinoy travelers, workers, and small business owners dependable access to employment and tourism opportunities.

This initiative builds on earlier collaborations with the Mindanao Development Authority and the Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. to address supply chain bottlenecks in the region. By combining freight shipping, specialized logistics, and passenger sea routes, 2GO continues to help local businesses move products while keeping communities across the archipelago connected.
