ONIC PH crowned MPL S14 Champions

MANILA, Philippines – Fnatic ONIC PH (FNOP) has officially claimed the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines Season 14 championship title, following an intense best-of-seven (BO7) Grand Finals against Aurora MLBB. The thrilling series, held at the Green Sun Hotel in Makati, ended with a 4:3 victory in favor of FNOP, solidifying their status as the top esports team in the country.

Fnatic ONIC PH will take home the lion’s share of the $150,000 prize pool, equivalent to over PHP 8.7 million, and will represent the Philippines in the upcoming M6 World Championship in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Alongside runner-up Aurora MLBB, FNOP will go head-to-head against the best Mobile Legends teams from across the globe in December’s highly anticipated event, which boasts a $1 million prize pool.

Kelra Named Finals MVP

FNOP’s star Gold Laner, Grant “Kelra” Pillas, was awarded the Finals Most Valuable Player (FMVP) for his stellar performance throughout the series. Nicknamed “The Gold Standard,” Kelra played a pivotal role in securing the championship for his team, cementing his reputation as one of the most skilled players in the league.

Under the guidance of Head Coach Tony Senedrin and Assistant Coach Jeniel Bata-anon, FNOP’s roster—comprising Cyric “K1NGKONG” Perez, Frince “Super Frince” Ramirez, Jan “Kirk” Gutierrez, Borris “Brusko” Parro, Duane “Kelra” Pillas, and Brian “Spider-Milez” Santos—delivered a dominant performance throughout the season. Despite a single loss to Smart Omega in the regular season, FNOP bounced back in the playoffs to assert their dominance on the MPL PH stage.

Record-Breaking Viewership

MPL Philippines Season 14 broke all previous viewership records, reaching a peak of 1,595,994 concurrent viewers during the Grand Finals, as reported by analytics partner Esports Charts. This milestone surpasses the previous record of 1.4 million viewers set during Season 7 in 2021 and now stands as the second-highest esports viewership in the Philippines, behind only the M5 World Championship.

“This season’s record-breaking viewership reflects the enduring popularity and growth of Mobile Legends esports in the region. MPL Philippines continues to be a major hub for the game, reinforcing its position as one of the most-watched leagues in the MPL series,” said Artyom Odintsov, CEO of Esports Charts.

Looking Ahead to the M6 World Championship

Fnatic ONIC PH and Aurora MLBB will now shift their focus to the M6 World Championship in Kuala Lumpur, where they will represent the Philippines against 16 of the world’s top teams. For Kelra, this marks a return to the international stage, following his appearance at the MLBB Southeast Asia Cup (MSC) in 2021.
