TCL PH turns 25: Why do EJ Obiena, Rhian Ramos & Valeen Montenegro love this brand?

PARAÑAQUE CITY, Philippines (April 15, 2025) – How has technology changed your home life over the last quarter-century? For many Filipinos, TCL Electronics has been part of that transformation, and the brand just celebrated 25 years of bringing innovation into local households.

Marking this milestone, TCL hosted its 2025 Grand Launch event themed “Legendary Moment, Timeless Greatness” at the Okada Manila Grand Ballroom. The celebration highlighted TCL’s journey and its recent recognition by OMDIA 2024 as the Triple Global Top 1 TV Brand in Mini-LED, Google TV, and Ultra-Large Screen TVs (85 inches and above).

TCL emphasized its commitment to the Philippine market, where it has become a familiar name. The company noted how its products cater to Filipino lifestyles, from enhancing family viewing of teleseryes with advanced TVs to simplifying chores with efficient washing machines and providing relief from tropical heat with smart air conditioners.

Griffin Zhang, General Manager of TCL Industries’ Asia Pacific Business Group, addressed attendees, stating, “Our TV and AC sales both hold the number 1 market share in sales volume [in the Philippines] and have become trusted brands among consumers.” He credited partners for this success and pledged continued innovation.

Peter Chen, CEO of TCL Philippines, reinforced the brand’s focus on pushing boundaries. “Being innovative has always been in TCL’s DNA,” Chen declared. “We are not a follower, but a trailblazer… Let’s work together, progress together, and prosper together.”

The event showcased TCL’s 2025 lineup, focusing on cooler, cleaner, smarter, and sharper technologies. Charlie Huang, Deputy Product Director of Brownline, introduced the upcoming X11K QD-MiniLED TV. Bert Cheung, Deputy Product Director of Air Conditioner, presented the FreshIn 3.0 Air Conditioners. Eric Li, Senior Product Manager for Washing Machine and Refrigerator, unveiled the Super Drum Combo+ C682 Front Load Washer and Dryer and the AAT Inverter+ C436BMSB bottom-mount refrigerator.

A significant highlight was TCL’s global partnership with the International Olympic Committee, extending through 2032. Shae Yu, Deputy Director of Marketing for TCL Philippines, explained the collaboration aims to “Inspire Greatness,” aligning TCL’s technological leadership with the Olympic spirit. “This partnership allows us to bring the spirit of the Games directly into people’s lives,” Yu said, emphasizing plans to enhance the Olympic experience with TCL technology while remaining sleek, smart, and sustainable.

Filipino pole vault star EJ Obiena, ranked world No. 4 and Asian record holder, joined the event as a special guest. He expressed enthusiasm for the TCL-Olympic partnership, comparing the brand’s drive for innovation to an athlete’s pursuit of better performance. “It’s about chasing greatness, constant improvement, and perfection,” Obiena shared.

The celebration also featured new TCL brand partners, actress Rhian Ramos and TV personality Valeen Montenegro. Montenegro described joining TCL as working with a brand that “truly understands innovation and heart,” mentioning her preference for the TCL QD MiniLED TV for home entertainment. Ramos shared her excitement, stating TCL makes tech feel “natural and exciting,” and highlighted her fondness for the TCL FreshIn 3.0 air conditioner, praising its voice command feature and energy efficiency.

Concluding the event, Cyd Montebon, TCL Philippines Deputy Director of Sales, and Wesley Yang, Deputy Director of Retail, led a celebratory toast. “TCL is a promise to innovate, connect, and redefine,” Yang stated. “And after tonight, it’s evident that the best is yet to come.”

As TCL looks back on 25 years, it focuses on continuing to shape Filipino homes with technology designed for modern living.
