EPSON opens largest Asian manufacturing plant in Batangas

LIPA-MALVAR, Philippines (Jun 2025) — EPSON Precision Philippines Inc. (EPPI), the largest EPSON manufacturing plant in Asia, is celebrating 30 years of operations at the LIMA Estate in Batangas—a milestone that reflects the company’s deep roots in the country’s growing industrial landscape.

The Japanese tech giant first broke ground in the 700-hectare PEZA-registered zone in 1997. Since then, EPPI has expanded its Batangas facility to cover 33 hectares with three massive factories employing over 20,000 Filipinos. It produces a wide range of products including printers, scanners, and projectors that are exported to Japan and distributed across Southeast Asia.

“EPPI’s sustained operations are a strong vote of confidence in the Philippines—our people and our economic potential,” said Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) Director General Tereso Panga. He noted that EPPI has invested over PHP18.8 billion, contributing to national development through innovation and job creation.

EPSON’s three-decade presence has helped position LIMA Estate as a key economic zone. Operated by Aboitiz InfraCapital Economic Estates, LIMA spans 1,000 hectares and hosts 185 locators and about 75,000 workers. It is the largest privately-owned industrial estate in the country and the first to earn a 5-Star BERDE-District certification from the Philippine Green Building Council.

“Being part of the Philippine industrial landscape is something we take pride in,” said EPPI President Yuishi Irie. “We will continue to support the country through employment, environmental initiatives, and quality service. As we mark 30 years, we reaffirm our commitment to grow together with the Filipino people.”

Aboitiz InfraCapital credited EPSON’s pioneering role in the zone’s success. “They took a bold step as our first locator. Today, they are a prime example of what’s possible with future-ready infrastructure and a resilient Filipino workforce,” said Clifford Academia, VP for Operations.

EPSON’s ongoing presence reflects broader opportunities for inclusive growth in Southern Luzon. LIMA Estate offers world-class logistics, infrastructure, and a skilled labor pool—making it a strategic choice for new and expanding businesses.
