GUANGZHOU, China (Aug 2026) – Building intelligent, physical AI systems is rapidly turning into tech’s next big race, and EV maker XPENG just secured a massive cash injection to lead the charge.
The company’s specialized robotics arm officially closed a private financing round exceeding $900 million (approx. PHP 52.2 billion). This impressive funding push elevates the division’s post-money valuation to over $6.3 billion (approx. PHP 365.4 billion), signaling enormous confidence from global investors in the potential of next-generation automation.
A historic milestone for embodied AI
The deal marks what company officials describe as the single largest private investment round ever recorded in China’s embodied artificial intelligence industry. Embodied AI refers to artificial intelligence integrated directly into physical machines, such as humanoid robots, enabling them to perceive, navigate, and interact with complex real-world environments.
Rather than focusing solely on software algorithms, the funds will be funneled directly into advanced hardware development, software integration, and scaling production for practical applications in both commercial and industrial spaces.
Accelerating the robot rollout
With substantial capital now in reserve, the division plans to speed up research and development for its upcoming robotics lineup. The main goal is to bring capable, high-efficiency robots out of experimental labs and into daily operational use.
