With 5G LTE looming next year, PLDT and Globe has provided a way for Philippine customers to check if their mobile SIM card is 4G LTE-ready.
4G LTE can offer at least three times the speed of 3G, resulting in decreased buffering time and an overall improved mobile experience.
Globe Telecom, TM: How to check if your SIM is LTE-ready
For Globe Prepaid and TM customers, follow the steps below to check if your SIM is LTE-ready:
- Dial *143#! on phone
- Naviate to My Account > LTE SIM Check
- Wait for a confirmation message containing information about your SIM type
Smart Communications, Sun, TNT: How to check if your SIM is LTE-ready
For customers under Smart, Sun, or TNT, follow the steps below to check if your SIM is LTE-ready:
- Create a new SMS message containing the word SIMCHECK
- Send it to 5832 (this is a free service)
- Wait for a confirmation message containing information about your SIM type
If you are still using a non-LTE SIM, Smart and Globe both offer FREE SIM card replacement! Just go to a physical Smart or Globe store to have your SIM card replaced for free!
