The Balboa Cup 2018: The Comeback [event]


The time has come to fight for the highly coveted Balboa Cup and words will be your only weapon.

The Children’s Museum and Library, Inc. proudly brings back one of the country’s premier debate competitions – The Balboa Cup.

The Balboa Cup, on its 22nd installment, will be using the Asian Parliamentary Format for the debates. The comeback will take take place on August 21-22, 2018 at the Philippine Women’s University, Taft Avenue, Manila.

In line with this, the CMLI Junior Council – National Executive Board (JC-NEB) 2018 Batch Salinlahi are calling on High School students from both public and private schools to compete in this two-day debate tournament!

Through this endeavor, the JC-NEB 2018 aims to heighten social consciousness and national awareness in the youth, arm the high school students with the tools of argument and persuasion, and provide a productive venue for the youth to freely express their views.

The registration fee is Php 1750.00 for each debate contestant. The fee will shoulder their snacks, lunch and dinner for the two days, tournament materials, and the souvenir programs.
