Filipinos’ well-loved videoke, WOW! Fiesta Videoke has tapped singing sensation JV Decena as its newest ambassador. The young singer recently performed in Hitman: David Foster and Friends Manila Concert.
During the contract signing, Decena expressed his joy for being the WOW! Fiesta Videoke’s newest ambassador along with renowned singer Gary Valenciano.
“Sobrang heartwarming. ‘Yan ang una kong naramdaman talaga. Parang naging full circle kasi I’ve been with them for more than 10 years. Ibang-iba yung feeling na pinagkatiwalaan nila ako. It’s like coming back home, ganon ‘yong feeling,” Decena said.
The “Tawag ng Tanghalan” contestant said that ever since he was a child, he’s always been using videoke to hone his singing skills.
“Sa videoke talaga ako natuto ng mga songs. Kung titingnan nga ‘yong repertoire ko, most of them pang-matanda talaga kasi sa mga tiyuhin ko talaga eh. Ayon yung mga kinakanta nila,” he said.
“Videoke is very close sa puso ko. Doon nanggaling lahat kung ano ako ngayon. Ito talaga ang bumuo sa akin.”
Decena also has tips for aspiring singers to never lose hope.
“Never stop dreaming. Faith kay Lord, faith sa sarili mo. Of course, lagi mong tatandaan na may mga taong may faith sa’yo. Doon manggagaling ang hope mo at drive mo kasi it’s a passion,” he said.
