MANILA, Philippines (Jul 2026) – Finding a banking experience that actually understands what you need can feel like a rare win, which is why EastWest Bank is making waves after securing three major regional recognitions for its digital-first, customer-focused approach.
The bank took home top honors at the Asian Banking & Finance Awards, proving that putting the customer first is more than just a corporate slogan.
Smarter digital banking for everyday life
For most Pinoys, banking should be quick, painless, and accessible. In 2025, digital transactions made up 51 percent of total transactions for EastWest Bank, thanks to new digital onboarding capabilities that allow customers to open accounts and access services in less time.
By focusing on fixing the common pain points of digital onboarding, dispute resolution, and in-store visits, the bank saw its Net Promoter Score jump by eight points, alongside a significantly lower complaints ratio.
“Our progress begins with understanding what customers genuinely need and removing the friction that can get in their way,” said Ivy B. Uy, executive vice president and head of the branch banking group. Whether customers are opening an account, exploring investments, or planning for the future, the goal is to make every interaction feel thoughtful and straightforward.
Using data to guide investment decisions
Instead of pushing generic financial products, the bank used data-driven insights to analyze how customers manage savings, investments, and liquidity across different life stages. These insights gave store managers and relationship managers a clearer basis for meaningful financial conversations, allowing them to offer personalized guidance on fixed-income investments.
Opening doors to local investments
The bank was also recognized for its role in making the local stock market more accessible. As a domestic participating underwriter for the initial public offering of Maynilad Water Services, Inc. in November 2025, the institution helped open the doors for regular retail investors to participate in one of the largest public offerings in Philippine history.
“These recognitions reflect different strengths of the bank, but they are connected by one purpose: creating meaningful value for the people and institutions we serve,” Uy added.
