SINGAPORE, Singapore (July 2026) — Keeping up with the rapid pace of AI adoption and digital shifts across Asia just became a top priority for one of the world’s biggest cybersecurity names.

Luca Simonelli is stepping back into a familiar environment as the new senior vice president for Asia Pacific. With over 30 years of international experience in tech leadership, he is tasked with overseeing operations across Japan, North Asia, and South Asia. This includes managing the company’s business in Southeast Asia, India, Australia, and New Zealand. Simonelli previously spent nearly eight years with the organization leading its EMEA business before a stint at GCX Managed Services.

Managing growth in a dynamic market

Joe Sarno, the executive vice president of international sales at Fortinet, noted that the region is currently one of the most active markets for cybersecurity. This comes as organizations modernize their infrastructure to integrate AI. Sarno believes that Simonelli’s deep industry experience and focus on customers will help the team execute its long-term growth strategy.

Simonelli added that the company is in a position to help businesses reduce complexity while they strengthen their cyber resilience during this digital journey. He believes that as customers continue to modernize their infrastructure and embrace AI, the company is prepared to help them secure every part of that process.

Based in Singapore, Simonelli holds a master’s degree in computer science from the University of Milan. His return marks a strategic move to strengthen relationships with partners and customers across the diverse Asian territory.
