HONOR brand refresh key visual
HONOR's new brand identity — Dare to Be (HONOR Philippines / PRL)

HONOR just changed its face, and the internet has thoughts. The company that spent years being known as “that phone brand” dropped a brand new logo in July 2026, and it looks like a ring, a planet, a camera lens, or depending on who you ask, something you might see on a Grok post.

The new mark is called the Honor Ring, and it comes with a new slogan: “Dare to Be.” The old slogan, “Go Beyond,” is gone, and so is HONOR’s old identity as just a smartphone maker.

Here is everything happening with the HONOR rebrand, what the experts say, and what actual people on the internet think about it.

1. The logo is a ring that is not a full circle

HONOR unveiled its new brand logo in an interesting ring shape, and the key detail is that it is not enclosed. The ring is open from two diametrical sides, forming a Saturn like look.

According to Huawei Central, HONOR described the design as breaking the traditional circle and entering the sphere to explore within.

The caption HONOR shared says it all: “Breaking free from the circle of perfection, exploring inwards and breaking through outwards. Daring to think, daring to be different, a glorious new beginning.”

In plain language: the old HONOR was a closed circle, and the new HONOR refuses to be one.

2. The new slogan: “Dare to Be”

Alongside the logo, HONOR introduced the tagline “Dare to Be,” replacing the long standing “Go Beyond.” Some sources also describe a fuller version: “Dare to Think, Dare to Be Different.”

It is a confidence play. HONOR is telling the world it is done playing it safe, and the timing lines up with its push into AI devices and robotics.

The 1000 Logos design analysis notes that a plain text logo was no longer doing enough work for a company moving into AI devices, robotics, and advanced imaging.

The ring is meant to travel beyond phones, and that is the entire point of the rebrand.

3. Why HONOR is doing this now

HONOR is known first as a smartphone company, and that is exactly the perception it is trying to escape. The ring is a symbol that can work on a phone, a robot, a camera, or a smart home device.

The rebrand is timed around HONOR’s expanding ecosystem, including the much teased robot phone, which was unveiled around the same time with camera tech powered by ARRI.

It is the same play Samsung and Huawei made years ago: grow the brand from a single product into a full technology ecosystem, and change the visual identity to match.

HONOR is not selling phones anymore. It is selling an AI powered future, and it wants the logo to say that before you even read the product name.

4. The design nerds are actually impressed

Design publications have mostly praised the move. Creative Bloq described the logo as simple yet impactful, with a circle motif and a diagonal stripe representing “breaking through perfection.”

The 1000 Logos analysis calls the ring smart, noting it could read as an orbit, a camera lens, a portal, or a connected system still in motion.

That flexibility is the point. HONOR is a brand still expanding, still testing new categories, and the incomplete ring says so visually.

Phone companies have struggled with this problem for years, and the analysis argues HONOR found a genuinely clever answer.

5. The internet has mixed feelings

Out in the wild, the reaction is more of a shrug than a standing ovation. The top r/Honor thread asks the question directly: “Do you like the new brand logo of Honor? It’s little like Grok.”

Yes, the Grok comparison is real, and it is the comment everyone noticed. The open ring design does share a family resemblance with the xAI brand, and the internet absolutely clocked it.

The main welcome thread racked up over a hundred votes with dozens of comments, and the tone is a mix of curiosity, skepticism, and jokes.

Some fans love the bold new direction. Others think the old wordmark was perfectly fine and this is change for the sake of change. The Design Zone coverage sums it up as “mixed reactions.”

6. The domain change is part of the package

The rebrand goes beyond the logo. HONOR has been consolidating its web presence under honor.com, stepping away from the older hihonor.com address.

That domain move happened earlier, but it is part of the same identity project: fewer prefixes, fewer asterisks, one clean global brand.

Getting the plain honor.com domain is a flex in itself. It signals that the brand has grown enough to own the word outright.

7. What it means for Philippine buyers

For HONOR fans in the Philippines, the rebrand is mostly cosmetic, but it carries a promise: expect more than phones from the brand.

HONOR has been aggressive locally with the Pad X9a, the X9d, and the foldable lineup, and the new identity points to even more categories ahead.

The logo will start showing up on devices, boxes, and the local HONOR website, and the old wordmark will slowly disappear.

If the robot phone ever lands locally, it will be wearing the ring, and that is the moment this rebrand actually gets tested in the real world.

The bottom line

HONOR’s rebrand is a classic corporate identity pivot: new logo, new slogan, new ambition, and a new symbol designed to outgrow the smartphone category.

The design world mostly approves, the internet mostly jokes about the Grok resemblance, and the real verdict will come when the ring shows up on robots, cameras, and whatever else HONOR ships next.

Whether you love it or think it looks like a tech startup logo generator, one thing is certain: HONOR is not just a phone brand anymore, and it wants the whole world to know.

Dare to be, indeed.
