Kapamilya primetime actress Jessy Mendiola announced in her Instagram account that she will be the the newest face of the Tanduay in its 2016 calendar.
In her post she said “Hi. I’m your new Tanduay calendar girl for 2016. #TANDUAY2016.”
Jessy Mendiola is Filipina actress and a model. She played the lead role of Maria Mercedes Alegre in the remake of the 1995 Mexican telenovela Maria Mercedes. Her first biggest break was playing the title role in the afternoon TV show, Sabel.
The You’re My Home star became controversial this year when drunk Enrique Gil created a scene on the plane after he fooled around Jessy who eventually got mad at him. The scene created tension as Luis Manzano and Liza Soberano intervened to pacify the young actor. Jessy’s mother later show up to defend daughter who have been bashed by fans of LizQuen.
The controversy also created a rift in the relationship of Jessy and actor JM de Guzman which resulted to their break-up.
Despite the issues, Jessy continue to ace roles as she became part of the new show Banana Sundae. Jessy meanwhile, supersedes Jennalyn Mercado who was the 2015 Tanduay Calendar Girl.

Earlier this year, fellow Kapamilya star Arci Munoz was selected 2016 Calendar Girl by Ginebra San Miguel, following co-star Ellen Adarna, who was 2015 Calendar Girl.
