MIBF 2020 goes online with over 60 exhibitors, Amazon best-selling author Anna Gomez [event]


PHILIPPINES The Manila International Book Fair (MIBF), the biggest and longest-running book fair in the Philippines, is going all-out as the event goes virtual this November 24-30, 2020, which will be known as The Manila International Online Book Fair (or MIBF Online).

MIBF Online aims to bring the book fair experience that we know and love to the comfort and safety of your home, whether you are using your computer or mobile device.

Virtual Activities to be Streamed Online

MIBF Online will, of course, not be the same without the activities that will cater to everyone’s interests, as well as pique people’s knowledge and curiosity.

Several of our exhibitors will be holding virtual panel sessions, forums, seminars, and book launches, which will be streamed live on YouTube, Facebook and Zoom.

The National Book Development Board (NBDB), an agency under the Department of Education (DepEd), is also holding their “Literary and Publishing Trade Conversations” (LitPub) throughout November with engaging topics from the perspective of different speakers every week.

The Book Development Association of the Philippines (BDAP), the country’s largest trade association for the book industry, will also hold the “Pandemic Playbook: the BDAP Literary Festival” during MIBF Online on November 28 and 29, featuring top-notch personalities such as Gina Apostol, Eugene Evasco, Gigo Alampay, Lourd De Veyra, Mookie Katigbak, Jessica Zafra, Manix Abrera, Mina Esguerra, Ricky Lee, and many more!

Award-winning author Anna Gomez and Life Unexpected actor Kristoffer Polaha joins MIBF Online

Anna Gomez, also known by her pen name Christine Brae, who has written Amazon’s bestselling and award-winning novels like The Light in the Wound, In This Life, Eight Goodbyes and The Year I Left, will be making her appearance at MIBF Online together with Kristoffer Polaha, who is well-known as “Nathaniel ‘Baze’ Bazile” in the hit 2010 teen drama series Life Unexpected and “Travis Burke” in Hallmark’s television film series Mystery 101.

Gomez and Polaha are collaborating on a five-part book series, entitled “From Kona with Love” that starts with book one, Moments Like This, set to be released in February 2, 2021.

They will be giving MIBF Online an online exclusive sneak peek on their collaboration process on Monday, November 30.
