The next HONOR flagship is officially on its way. A little more than a month before the Magic 9 is expected to arrive, HONOR has confirmed the series for a September launch, opened pre-orders, and most notably, teased a completely redesigned camera in collaboration with cinema camera maker ARRI. Here is everything the teasers tell us so far.
An official September launch, pre-orders open
HONOR confirmed the Magic 9 series for September at the debut of its Robot Phone, with CEO Li Jian signaling that the flagship lineup is open for blind pre-orders across channels. Reports point to a launch around September 28 in China, and the teaser poster shows a sharp new look.
The camera design that retires an icon
The headline change is the camera. HONOR’s iconic centered camera layout is being retired, replaced on the Magic 9 with a large circular module co developed with ARRI, the German maker behind some of cinema’s most trusted cameras. The teaser shows a 200MP sensor on a 1/1.4-inch size with OIS, a meaningful upgrade aimed squarely at the best camera phone title, and both companies promise a complete film creation chain from shooting to color grading.

What the tipped specs add up to
Alongside the ARRI tuned imaging, the Magic 9 series is expected to bring a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chip built on a new 2nm-class process, dual 200MP cameras, and a battery reported to top eight thousand milliampere hours. A smarter YOYO AI assistant with longer command handling is also tipped to join the package.

How this fits HONOR’s momentum
The Magic 9 lands after a busy stretch for HONOR that included the Robot Phone global launch and the Magic V6 foldable. It also follows the Magic Pro 9 Max teaser that already signaled the ARRI collaboration, so the flagship and its Pro sibling look set to share the same cinematic imaging DNA. Philippine timing is not yet confirmed, but when the previous Magic models made it here, local buyers know what to watch for.
