What to do in between promotional shows in a foreign land for the first time?
Explore your host city!
That’s what visiting boyband, In Real Life did on the 2nd day of their stay here in the Philippines after being warmly welcomed by the organizers and a bunch of sweet fans last November 3 weekend in the midst of the observance of Undas (All Saint’s and Soul’s Day).
Brady, Sergio, Michael, Drew and Chance were overwhelmed by the show of support of local fans during their live guesting at FM radio partner Like FM 105.9 in its headquarters in Tiendesitas, Pasig.
An excited and shrieking crowd of 50 something supporters all showed up marking the first Meet and Greet moment of IRL with their Pinoy crew.
Everyone got warm hugs from the boys and individual photo ops which they will cherish for a long time!
We obviously know what Drew is munching either for a snack or dinner.
In Real Life invaded a famous and popular fast food chain giant for some chicken, sweet spaghetti and ice cream which satisfied their hungry tummies.
Twenty-year old Chance Perez is an irresistable crowd drawer and one of the favorite among fans and the girls and some guys can't get their eyes and cameras off of him!
His charming smile will melt you on the spot!
Boy next door Michael Conor who has an angle resembling One Direction's Louie Tomlinson is also an eye candy to swooning LifeLiners, the official monicker if you are an In Real Life fan.
He's great at rapping too and plays the violin. Such talents, woot!
Chance wanted to send a message clear on what his statement shirt says.
And I would stop my train or any form of vehicle if and when we see him flashing the "hitch" sign on the road.
It can also be tiring switching from one ride to another so the boys grabbed lunch at a roasted chicken restaurant and was advised to eat with their bare hands to enjoy the food even more with extra rice on the side because chicken is love love love!
The guys were so game and also learned how to combine and mix soy sauce with kalamansi dips!
So from the hotel, the IRL members rode their first tricycle experience and preferred to be backriders to enjoy the view all the way to the LRT 1 station where they took the next train available and squeezed their way in to a not so crowded ride.
Some fans noticed them inside the train and did not miss to take their pictures and quick selfies which the guys did not mind at all.
It was a cool sight to see IRL inside our LRT 1 and how they blended within the commuters. They alighted Central Terminal station and next rode the national vehicle, the jeepney all the way to their next destination of the historic Walls of Intramuros to test ride the popular "kalesa".
How's the view of downtown Manila on a Sunday from your vantage point Brady?
You don't see rides like this in that side of California, USA!
While most of the boys went inside the jeep, 19 year old Michael opted to enjoy the view clinging from the rear end, which is also common practice here especially during rush hour.
That smile on his face is soooo precious!
Not to worry, a marshall was on hand to secure his riding safety.
And so the group made it all the way to that side of historic Intramuros to have a feel of the formerly war-torn walls and were also briefed by the guides on how tough and difficult life was then in Circa 1940's Manila.
Chance and the group's videographer Louie had fun riding this horse carriage and the camera just caught his genuine smile at the very right moment!
Same thing with 21 year old Drew, who beside his "kalesa" driver gets his smile of approval.
Good job Mr Horsey!
The rare but memorable transportation ride by In Real Life members were made possible by "Ikot Manila" . Just check them out at @ikotMNL on social media.
For Michael, Brady, Drew, Sergio and Chance, it was a whole new adventure and learning experience to all of them on a foreign land which testaments to the popular saying, "When in Rome, do what the Romans do."
Out of the four modes of transportation, which was their favorite?
The guys were uninimous in picking the "prince of the road" --- the TRICYCLE!
