As more young Filipinos navigate rising living costs, growing financial responsibilities, and an increasingly digital economy, access to practical financial education has become more important than ever. To help address this need, Prudence Foundation, the community investment arm of Prudential plc, officially launched Levela, a free financial education platform designed to help young adults learn smart money skills fast, build new habits, and grow financial confidence.

The Philippines is the first market to launch Levela, underscoring Prudence Foundation’s focus on advancing financial literacy and inclusion in communities where the need remains significant. Available through web and mobile platforms, Levela provides clear, easy-to-understand lessons on budgeting, saving, debt management, insurance, financial planning, and fraud prevention.

“At Pru Life UK, we are proud to support the launch of Levela in the Philippines, advancing our shared commitment to make financial literacy and inclusion more accessible to the communities we serve. Through local partnerships and community engagement, we bring financial education closer and more relevant to everyday life, equipping more Filipinos with practical knowledge to make confident financial decisions,” said Sanjay Chakrabarty, President and CEO of Pru Life UK, a subsidiary of Prudential plc.

In support of Takaful, Pru Life UK also worked with Prudence Foundation to make the Shariah-compliant module, originally available in Bahasa Malaysia, accessible in English for Filipino Muslim communities. The Company continues its efforts to bring financial education closer to everyday life, making it more relevant for Filipinos and equipping them to make confident financial decisions.

Levela is primarily designed for Generation Z, including university students transitioning into adulthood and young professionals managing their first salaries and growing financial responsibilities. An offline version will also help extend financial education to underserved communities, including informal and low-income workers.

Scaling impact on financial education

Levela builds on the success of Prudence Foundation’s award-winning financial literacy programme, Cha-Ching, which has helped millions of children across Asia and Africa develop foundational money management skills over the past decade.

Levela’s educational content and audience-focused design are backed by research developed in partnership with Center for Financial Inclusion at Accion, an independent think tank focused on advancing inclusive and responsible financial systems worldwide.

“At Prudence Foundation, building resilient communities is at the heart of what we do,” said Nicole Ngeow, Executive Director, Prudence Foundation. “Levela builds on our financial literacy efforts by providing a new generation of young adults with practical tools they can use in their daily lives. We are delighted to roll out the app in the Philippines first, expanding access to financial education where it is needed most. Our programmes are built for the long-term to support better outcomes for Filipino communities.”

Following the Philippines, Levela will also be launched in Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Ghana, and Zambia later this year. Through the app, Prudence Foundation aims to scale practical and accessible financial education for today’s rapidly evolving financial landscape.
