If you have been waiting for the Galaxy A57 5G or Galaxy A37 5G to get cheaper in the Philippines, a new regional price move from Samsung suggests you should not hold your breath. The company is adjusting their prices in Malaysia starting September 7 and has raised them for the first time in India, and the reason points straight at the memory chip crunch.

What Samsung is changing in Malaysia

Malaysian outlet TechNave reported the exact breakdown of the September 7 adjustment. It is not a blanket increase: higher-capacity models climb while at least one lower-tier variant gets cheaper.

Model and variant New Malaysia price (Sept 7) Direction
Galaxy A57 5G (12GB+512GB) RM2,899 Up
Galaxy A57 5G (8GB+256GB) RM2,099 Down
Galaxy A57 5G (12GB+256GB) RM2,399 Steady
Galaxy A37 5G (12GB+256GB) RM2,199 Up
Galaxy A37 5G (8GB+256GB) RM1,899 Steady

TechNave noted Samsung attributes the shift to rising RAM and memory chip costs.

India just got its first Galaxy A price hike

The move is not confined to Malaysia. Indian outlet TelecomTalk reported that Samsung has raised Galaxy A37 5G and Galaxy A57 5G prices in India for the first time, by as much as Rs 5,000. The A37 launched there at Rs 41,999 for the 8GB+128GB model, Rs 47,999 for 8GB+256GB and Rs 52,999 for 12GB+256GB.

What this could mean for the Philippines

No Philippine price revision has been announced yet. Locally, the Galaxy A57 5G launched in March at ₱28,990 for 128GB, ₱30,990 for 256GB and ₱37,990 for 512GB, with the Galaxy A37 5G at ₱25,990 and ₱27,990.

The trigger is a trend we have covered all year: a memory chip and component shortage that has steadily pushed phone prices up. When a brand says the reason is RAM and memory chip costs, that same pressure can eventually reach the local market.

Samsung’s own regional releases are already landing higher here too. Our Galaxy S26 FE Philippines pricing breakdown shows the newest midrange flagships carrying premium price tags.

The bottom line

For now, the only confirmed changes are abroad. The smartest play if you want a Galaxy A57 or A37 is to watch official Philippine pricing and act before any local adjustment, rather than assume a regional hike will not come. We will update this story the moment Samsung Philippines confirms anything.
