Microsoft just opened pre-orders for its flashiest console yet. The Xbox Series X25 Limited Edition, a translucent OG-green take on the Series X built to mark 25 years of Xbox, launches November 13 at an MSRP of $899.99, and every unit ships with a rebuilt Halo: Combat Evolved.
The Xbox Series X25 at a glance
Announced earlier this summer and now heading toward a November release, the Series X25 is the centerpiece of Xbox’s 25th anniversary collection. Microsoft says every console is individually numbered with a unique engraving, which turns what is already a games machine into a genuine collector’s item.

Pre-orders: how and when
Microsoft is rolling pre-orders out in two waves. Some of its most dedicated fans are being invited by email starting today, while everyone else in select markets can lock one in starting Thursday, August 27 at 7 a.m. PDT on the Xbox site or at participating retailers while supplies last. Orders are limited to one collection per customer.
Filipino gamers should note the $899.99 figure is the US MSRP. Xbox says pricing varies by market and points shoppers to their local Microsoft Store or authorized retailers for region pricing. Xbox consoles are sold in the Philippines through authorized retailers, but a local Series X25 price and PH availability have not been announced yet.
What’s in the box, and the extras
Every Series X25 ships with a full-game download of Halo: Campaign Evolved, the modernized remake of the campaign that defined the original Xbox. The matching Xbox X25 Special Edition Wireless Controller is also sold separately, with pre-orders open now and a standalone October 20 release.
Beyond the console itself, Xbox has partnered with third-party brands on a Designed for XBOX 25th Anniversary collection of translucent green gear:
- Razer Basilisk V3 Pro 35K, BlackWidow V4 75%, and Hammerhead V3 X HyperSpeed
- 8BitDo Ultimate Charging Dock for Xbox controllers
- Backbone Pro for Xbox
- GameSir X5 Lite for Xbox
A pricier turn for the console generation
At $899.99, the Series X25 is the most expensive Xbox console to date, a price point that reflects rising hardware costs across Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo. VICE notes the real question is how fast a late-cycle collector’s item sells out, especially with the next console generation already looming on the horizon.
